I Don't Think Your Mom Would Like This

Alright, so the nerdy guys and gal over at /film.com clued us over at Your Mom into bit of awfulness. Turns out the creator Gilligan's Island's son has signed a deal to bring Gilligan's Island to the big screen. The guy from Superbad is apparently in talks to play Gilligan and they want Beyonce to play Ginger.

Look, this three hour tour shouldn't have happened in the first place. Do you think they're going to do this like 24 where every episode is exactly an hour long, so the three hour tour is a three hour movie? Cool idea for an hour long show that has lots of explosions and Keifer Sutherland yelling at people, terrible idea for a remake of a bad TV show that's supposedly getting carried by the kid from Superbad. This is not anything I will sit right back for. By the way, I vote for Eric Roberts to play the role of the professor.

They dig what we call the Ugly Sweater. They seem to bring them out of the closet this time of year. You know the ones with the snowmen, Santa or other holiday treat.

If you want to get your Mom a new sweater for her collection, try this site. Be prepared to pay a whole lot more if you want to get it there by Christmas. But look at it this way: you can break out one of those colorful sweaters for an ugly sweater party!

Your Mom Would Like This In Blu-Ray

So anyone who knows me knows I've been riding this movie since I saw the trailer about 8 months before it came out. This is the best movie I've seen in a while. I think I've seen movies that have better acting or more action packed or with a better storyline, but I haven't seen any with great acting, lots of great action and a great story.

OK, so there's the disclaimer about how much I like that movie. So I'm trying to figure out with to buy my parents for Christmas and I'm at Best Buy and I walk by the HDTVs and blu-ray disc players. I notice that blu-ray player prices are way down this holiday season. So I go ahead and pull the trigger and buy them a blu ray disc player and a copy of the Dark Knight.

Because of my inability to keep a secret and my mom's consistent pestering for me to loan her my copy of the Dark Knight, I give them their gift early. So we hook it up and check out the first ten minutes. Wow. I'm not much a technology geek, but this looked fantastic. I now highly recommend blu-ray disc players to anyone and their moms. Your mom might not even know what blu-ray means, but she'll know right off the bat that it looks really good.

In case this testimonial prompts you to go out and check out blu ray disc players, here are a couple of ideas.
